I chopped my '53 3 years ago. I'm a semi truck painter by trade, but I've done some rust patches and body work. I always wanted a chopped car, but never wanted to work that hard. I decided to just do it, so I could say I did it. It's chopped 4" all the way around. The back gl*** is a '53 150 sedan (or business coupe). It's got a 59 283 power pack w/ aluminum powerglide. It still needs the door window frames reworked for the gl*** and wings to fit, but since I can drive it, it must be done.
Man, that's a beautiful car, great job. I think you should lower it a couple more inches though, when you chop one it really calls attention to the stance. But I'm nit pickin', it looks great!
looks frickin cool man. I like how you kept it all stock lookin by keepin all the trim and not shaving the handles, like it rolled off the plant chopped.. very nice
I have seen this car in person and it is absolutely beautiful. Cool pictures by the way, to bad that place got tore down.
I have since put 3" drop leafs, and that dropped it another 2", but it can't go any lower without Z-ing the frame. I'm probably not going to work THAT hard. I'll let the air out of the shocks for cruising around the shows.
