How do you ID a generation 3 camaro rear end out of a '87 Camaro with 3.23 gears. Numbers on the pumpkin are GM N 225226/6

I believe they are "limited slip" rears.

Run it till it breaks then put a real rearend in it..I think the rear ends are good for 300 real hp. If you hook up, its a gonner..

All my fords (3) have the 8.8 with the same 3.55 gear set. Next best thing to a 9 inch!!

Damn if I go with 8.8 I am gonna have to exchange my front rotors as they are 4.75 bolt pattern. This is something I am gonna have to think about.

Is there a kit that you can buy to change the 4.5" bolt pattern on Ford 8.8" to a Chevy 4.75" Chevy bolt pattern?

  18. Impalas chevelles biscains come to mind.

Even the bigger 10 bolt is not really a high zoot rear. I would look for a 12 bolt unless your car is pretty light.

A carefully ***embled 10 bolt 8.5 inch will handle drag slicks and 500 hp.A 12 bolt is a little stronger and a lot more expensive to buy as an ***embly.....
