Some pictures I took at the swap on Friday, got lazy on saturday and didn't take anymore, there were some notable things there such as roadster ute bodies etc. anyway.

Ford Ute for sale, thought it was a good buy for the money, of course didn't see it in the flesh.

XW ute, think it was 12k, couldn't build it for that, there was an army XY on the airfield on saturday for 3k, was a base model. drum brakes etc, needed repair but a good start on what is getting to be a desirable ute.

    stuff.

the A frame seemed ok for the money.

38-9 ch***is don't know how much it was.

one of the cars on the airfield.

just like the stance of this one. Not a big fan of late fords, but this one was nice.

That old sprint car 32 went for $4 something K in the end.. he told me it wasnt going home with him..new owner kinda got a bargain..There wasnt really many usable pieces on it, despite it looking amazingly good in your photo corey..If I had the money spare would have saved it as a piece of aussie hotrodding history..just tidied it up into a rolling sculpture. had KERANG written across the back..outback sprint track maybe?

I have my eye on the White Unibody F100 big window truck...see that?

Was a great swap all up.

  3. Good shots there.
I talked to the guy who bought that roadster, it was a fair bit less than 6k and he seemed happy with the price :)

I also got some good parts.

  4. Last time i went there was about ten years ago. Lot,s to see then but it was a real dust bowl.

That spring car roadster is awesome! It still sounds like a good buy even if it was a bit of a mess. The '38 ute on the Gold Coast sounds interesting...

The Kerang Roadster was up to 4800 on friday when I spoke to the seller, he put it in his shed 35 years ago. Ben, Richard Jones owns the Uni body and you cant have it Coz I want it!! The Black 48? convert has a hemi in it awesome car. Some good bargains, some over priced **** and lots of walking did 36 kms and didnt see it all but had a ball.

the kerang 32 roadster sold for $3800,thinking about that now,not a bad deal, frame had rust, but seen worse, 34 (i think)front and rear ends,i beleive new owner is going to restore to former glory.we had that 34 tub on our site, cheap car, maybe vintage tin isn't moving like it used to.we set up camp thursday night, reasonable trading on friday, saturday average with people packing up from 10.00 am ,a little disapointing, maybe the organizers need to bring the start time back to saturday morning and make it a true 2 day event.

Ben saw that unibody, I do like them too, ended up in a discussion with the old man as he said he doesn't like them. I think their the best looking late F truck.

And your right, the photo of the sprint car of course makes it look like a silk purse when it was a sows ear. for the $$ you were only buying parts. the hood wasn't 32, not even sure on the rear quarters, I didn't get that close as I could see it was more a pile of parts cobbled together than a 'car' to be resurrected.

  10. Hmmm.....interesting.

What about parts, intakes, carbs, bones etc...much around?

I thought it was a great weekend as usual, parts hunting with mates, beers, bbq's and plenty of **** talking. I actually picked up quite a bit of stuff I was chasing and grabbed a few bargains that I couldn't p*** on.
As for parts RAT, I picked up a bucket of 94 pieces with enought to make 5 carbs plus spares for $15. A friend got a bigger bucket with 7 or so carbs for $40. I also got a 36 front end, rear cross member and pedal ***y, F1 pedal ***y, 34 rear cross member, a set of 5 16" artillery wheels (5 on 4.5) for $45 and some old chopper stuff. A few other things made it almost a full ute load. I was camped with 'Human Fly' and 'Rocketboy' and all three utes were pretty full on the way home :D.

The 36 front end has wide 5 hubs, drums, and early square back spindles in good order (free spining and no damage) that I won't be using if anyone is interested. I'd be interested in trades, looking for 46-48 front hubs and late square back spindles etc.

  12. i went and spent all my money at graffitti and peddros stands, bought a 15' chevy rim for $10 for my 53 and a couple of old records for $5 everything else i was looking for was either not there or way over priced.
