    Sunny Florida:D

    Friday - Sunny, 65 degrees
Sat. (day of the show) - 35 degrees at 6am, Rain from 7am-1pm, Sunny and 50 degrees @ 3pm:rolleyes:
    Sunday - Sunny, 65 degrees

    sigh... :D

That being said, we had just over 400 hot rods and customs and over 1000 people brave the weather. Smaller than last year, but more than I expected given the grey skies in the morning. The new location worked out GREAT. Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing is an amazing place, but it just isnt set up to handle the THOUSANDS of people that showed up last year. The Alachua County fairgrounds can easily handle 30k+ a day, so its a better choice for the numbers that the Florida Billetproof show can generate. Everyone got in and out with ease, the building and pole barn were ideal for vendors, bands, model car show and Panel Jam. The access road means no worries about clogging up streets with hot rods. This made the FireMarshal, the EMT crews and the Sheriff VERY happy.

HUGE thanks to the Florida PoorBoys for working their butts off to make sure everyone had a good time, making some amazing trophies, and being good friends to the show and to Melissa and I. Couldnt do it without you guys (and your lovely significant others).

Ken and Vicki, You guys ROCK.

Thanks to Matt (loveoftiki) from Detroit, Lockwood Customs from New Jersey for making and shipping trophies and all of the clubs that took the time and effort to make trophies and picks for the show.

I'll get some pics up in a little bit.

Cant wait for the Billetproof Florida Drags on Oct. 24, 2010 to see ya'll again!!!

  2. Alan, me and the other F-bombs had a blast. Yea, the weather sucked but it seperated the men from the boys. Can't wait for the drags and BP 2011. Another job well done by you and the Poorboys...

  6. I know the group I rode in with all had a good time. A little rain never hurt but the cold on the other hand.... J/K. It was nice to see some cool cars (love what the F-Bombs are doing) and some "interesting cars" lol. God I love Fl. Anyways the modified ran great and the buddies all hung out afterwards and terrorized our home town streets. Btw it's beautiful out right now! Dam fl weather....

The Salvagerz Choice for the "Best Custom" Award.
The stories of this car getting from snowy Michigan to Florida are just as amazing as the car itself!

That was my favorite car. He was also featured in street rodder i believe. What was with the few cars parked outside the gates? Where they not allowed in or didnt want to pay up? I seen a few in the show with billet wheels and alot of billet stearing wheels. I didnt mind but didnt get why some covered their wheels with cardboard or grease.

I am so happy people actually showed up. It's reinforces my decision to stand in the rain all day directing traffic. For those that entered the show, I was the one wearing the afro right before the registration tent. It was nice seeing all the cars weathering the rain. I brought 3 jackets, and swapped them out as they got soaked. My toes remained frozen all day, but I left with a smile. Next year will be even better.

Thanks for the memories, and thank you poorboys for the memorable weekend!

Had a blast this year!!!!!!New location is way better in my opinion. My only complaint is that its only one day. There was no worries about finding a spot to park, or saving spots for friends getting there late.I want to thank the Procrastinators CC for the Jive Bomber award(still trying to figure out if its a good or bad award :)).Almost didnt get it cause the slip of paper letting me know blew off my dash and under my seat. Thanks to Alan and the Poor Boys and everybody else that was involved.AWSOME TIME!!!!!!!

Thanks for posting the pictures of my 50 Chevy Custom. Also I want to thank the Poor Boys of Detroit for picking my car for the best Pinstriping. This is a real compliment from
Guys who know what they are looking at. Also The Poor Boys of Florida for putting on a
great show in spite of the weather. I got to meet Glenn and some of the other guys also
You guys did a great job. We had great weather for the drive up Friday and also back
today. Looking forward to next year.
