The best was FOX NEWS, plastered all over their website, "TSUNAMI BLASTS HAWAII, DAMAGE UNKNOWN"

What a crock of ****, then later they played it up for Japan, the "waves" were reported to be four inches high...

  3. My wife and I spent a few days in Lahaina for Halloween on our honeymoon. Nice folks, just like pretty much everywhere in Hawaii. Glad there was no significant happenings.

I was flying to the Phillipines thanks to the Navy, we landed in Anchorage just after the quake, they wouldn't let us off for a long time as there wasn't much left. Finely left on the Electra for Japan. Will never forget that trip

FOX was hardly alone in this sensationalism. CNN, MSNBC, and all the others were just as guilty, if not more so.

  7. All the news stations do this, even with the weather. We had a snowstorm here a couple days ago. Not the end of the world, just a night of snow that left us with a foot on the ground. Nothing we haven't been though a million times. All the stations were using phrases like (and I'm not making this up) "SNOWPOCALYPSE" and "SNOWMAGEDDON" and they even said "It's going to be like a SNOW TORNADO!!!" Good way to catch the ratings and keep the American public on edge and chock full of panic.

Yeah, the "news/media" is pretty bad anymore. I don't know what they'd do if a REAL tragedy struck. They'd be stumbling and mumbling trying to find new words to sensationalize the situation in order to "one-up" their compe***ion. I like the old standard - Sh** happens.

We're glad everyone is OK and no damage occurred. Let's get back to Traditional Hot Rods and Customs
