Someone recently started another thread about the demise of swap meets. It made me think that I was considering driving 5 hours to attend the swap meet in Louisville, KY on March 13 & 14. I have never been there and thought I would give it a shot since it is advertised as the largest indoor swap meet. So now it seems like a good idea to get some HAMBER's opinion on the swap as to what shows up for-sale there. I see it is sponsored by an antique car club, so that might be good. It is a long ways for me to drive plus the cost of the motel, but I am still considering it. So any comments about it would be helpful in my decision. (What I like to shop for is the same as most of you guys...early Ford parts and hot rod stuff!) Thanks, Corndog
Its a good swap meet, and I go every year. As with any swap meet get there early Saturday for the rare stuff cause by noon its gone. It has way more muscle & race stuff than hot rod or early Ford, but its there if you look hard enough.
This will be my first year going since I got my panel. I hope we all can find some good stuff and some great deals!
I have been going to this swap meet for about 14 years and never come away empty handed. The people are great and we have met many friends from all over. Look for me in my "Getting Lucky in Kentucky" t shirt!
Great meet. If you can't find your part there then there is no more to be had !!!! LOL.TOM (Tired Old man)
I live here so it's pretty convenient, it is usually a good swap meet, like any it has it's ups and downs, I think that with the economy the way it is and this ****py weather we've had this winter, it may be an "up" this time. I attended the fall meet, know a bunch of people that set up and the consensus was that nobody was buying anything, of course that was October, going into winter and getting close to Christmas. I wouldn't hesitate to travel to the spring meet, simply for the fun and great people, it is big, and warm. My .02 Dave
No car corral at the spring meet, I just talked to my bud that is setting up, he said it will be in the west wing, west hall, west pavillion, and has been expanded into the Broadbent arena, so...bigger than in years past, should be good
