I've ben seeing pics of some stuff running these. Anyone else see them and what is your take on them?
They have them in a redline also I think. Diamondbacks making some but am afraid they are high. I just think them or the redlines with a set of these would look good on my '61.
If you're gonna put those tires on your car...maybe that isn't the car you should be drivin. Put some regular skinny whites or reds on and be done with it...or go buy a tuner to wrap around your tire choice. sheesh.
Totally ****ing hideous Id rather chew tin foil wile watching sponge bob squire pants, than ever look at them again You should change you name to the **** disturber
[ QUOTE ] Totally ****ing hideous Id rather chew tin foil wile watching sponge bob squire pants, than ever look at them again You should change you name to the **** disturber [/ QUOTE ] Look, I only wanted an opinion, not insults. I get the point. I simply was trying to vision them on there. Would some Mod on here just delete this damn post.
[ QUOTE ] SEE THIS-----------> That means im jokeing, relax sabre.....over [/ QUOTE ] No big deal. I know everyone(mostly)on here is about traditional cars. But, pushing the envelope is what this hobby is based on. If guys stuck to being traditional and doing what everyone else was doing there would be no such thing as Roth, Von Dutch, or Barris. Oh well/
Im just not the biggest fan of white walls (to cruser for me) im more into the hard core early hot rod look. However when it comes to customs. They must be simple / restrained (early style) and have a nice set of wwws. Of course thats just my opinion. Your the only one that has to like you car. So do what you want man. You dont need to please me or anybody else. Well maybe the little woman?

[/ QUOTE ] Is it me...Or is every body Close minded nowa days.I dont think that the wheel/tire combo would look bad on the right car.I dont like the color of the wheel but I think the taller white wall looks cool.I didnt know the words "YOUR OPINION" pissed so many people off.I'll remember not to use those words in the future Brett
be nice, I like 1low personally, I dont think that a redwall would look nice on your car at all. hideous actually. You have a very cool car, and if you would like the bigger "dubs" on there, I can see where you are coming from, and the WHITE wall would look nice too, but that redwall is for 70's mopars, and 70's mopars ONLY in my opinion. Maybe im missing something, but I dont ever remember a redwall on anything else. Your paint is a great combo in itself, which would be accented positively with whitewalls, but I think a redwall would almost ruin the car. But then again it may look alright somehow , this is just my opinion though, its your car, so do what YOU want to do. If you do what someone else tells you to do, you'll probably never be satisfied with the car. Who cares if some people/everyone hates it, if you like it then good for you. Briggs
I don't think it's about open or closed minded. When you read good comments like this- [ QUOTE ] its trying to be something it isn't. [/ QUOTE ] you should give them a little more thought. Low profile tires were developed for hard cornering sportscars, wide whitewalls are non-functional decoration. Mixing old and new is hard and rarely works . . Mixing functional purposes like this (almost) never works. Mixing old and new is worth a try and its interesting sometimes. But its probably the easiest way to be innovative . . . the trick is to make something thats actually better.
Im just sayin, if that truck was mine it would be chopped nosed olds headlight rings cad sombreros with 670 wwws. Or (about like it is) with halbrands or 5 spokes or salt flat specials with black tires. I know this will offend some people but I think white walls with alum. rims looks awful. The wwws on every thing is really getting tired. This is no ****, I saw a 70s 911 in black primer red steeles - www Very few cars look mean with white walls. Just my stupid opinion of what I think looks cool (for me)

Briggs [/ QUOTE ] Red walls also came on late 60's, and early 70's GM cars too. I think Ford had them too about the same time. 1low, I think the chrome radars with those tires would look good. It's only tires and wheels, if you can afford to have two different sets of tires and wheels, do it, then change them back and fourth evey few weeks, or months. DO IT! Dean (ps) here's what I drive everyday. Talk about stirring the ****.
I seen that truck in person and took several pics of it, it was a really nice truck.. I think he was going for the Jimmy Shine look.. the one he did one the fullsize Ford.. My wife did not like it, I was mixed, but I could appreciate what the guy was trying to do (shake things up).. I believe the tires were done by Diamondback, they can put a whitewall on any size tire..
personally I don't like em or anything lager than 15" on any car (other than stocker 16's) and have no idea where the BIG look came from or what people were thinking putting that stuff on any cl***ic car ,they belong on those tiny *** jap FART and FURRY cars,Hated the big wheel/tiny tires look from the beginning and they fall into that billet look ,BUT if YOU like em RUN EM, its YOUR car.but thats just my opinion.
1Low-I've looked and looked, gone away, came back and looked some more. And, the verdict is: I like it A LOT! Jaysus, what the heck would our hobby be about if someone, once in a while, didn't step out of the "accepted" way of doing things and exercised his right to be different. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. But, I like the fact that this guy did something different and I like the final product. Thanks for sharing.
Nice pic, Boones. It's obvious the truck owner was looking to go with a update on a tried and true theme. It looks kinda cool. Let's face it, that look is more fad then the wave the future. To each his own. As far as 1low's ride with 'em on, I personally wouldn't go with the "Pro Touring" look for it, but if it works for him, so be it. If it were mine I think it would have a cl***ic look with thin whites and Astro Supremes. Interesting post. Joel
Nothing worse then mixing the new style wheels with old iron. Might as well put a Northstar in it too. Farm trucks and European designs just don't mix. Its like having a pig farm next to the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
[ QUOTE ] Look, I only wanted an opinion, not insults. I get the point. I simply was trying to vision them on there. Would some Mod on here just delete this damn post. [/ QUOTE ] On the RIGHT car (or truck) they might look good. Not on a traditional '50s look, but a modern custom. Something with Mercedes headlights, monochrome grille/bumpers, posh interior. They just don't fit the look of that truck. I'm not familiar with your '61 but done right they might look good.
I tell ya'll what, lets have one of you Photoshop guru's work your voodoo on my '61 and lets see what some big inch ww's with either the new Cragar Radir repop or with a set of the big*** Astro repops I've seen......
dude why don't you just get skinny white wall tires on your existing wheels....you keep thinking it is a bellflower style car ....if you put those matchbox wheels on there you will just ruin the whole look of that car ....the www are bad enough but the big *** wheels are just hideous ......spend your money on some nice interior . i think it will go alot further that way ......if you want to talk the traditional talk . you need to walk the traditional walk ......put those wheels on a new car ......or better yet leave em at the wheel shop..........you asked for opinions so this is mine ......don't do it .......
