Since I just bought my first real hot rod today, I thought I should finally just stop lurking around here and actually REGISTER!

I plan to sell everything but the cab and grill. I'll be getting a 36 car frame and starting the real fun...7" chop top, channeled, z'd frame, yatta, yatta...

Hoping to get lots of pics within a couple of weeks and will post asap.

Welcome from Loveland Colorado. one tad bit of advice before any thing is done make a plan and stick to it. A 7 " chop on a truck will kink the proportions and limit the viewing area and head room. I metal finished out a hard chop on a model A last year and the owner of the car says when he takes it up th canyon roads out here the only thing he gets to see is the guard rail. Chop the truck to improve the appearance and not just to chop it. Didn't mean to get on a soap box just my two bits and nothing more. good luck with the build and please post progress shots of it.

    Cool! Lots of folks nearby.

I hear you Rexrogers! I have traditionally liked mild chops of 3-4 inches, but I have fallen in love with a more radical chop on the 30's pickups. I've spoken to Derrek out at Boling Brothers Early Iron about modifying the frame and he sent me a picture of a recent truck that just nails the look, in terms of proportions and frame geometry.

I'll post a couple of inspiration pics to show what I'm going after.
