When it rains it pours, and lately the 51 has been getting some attention. After picking up the da-arched springs this afternoon, SLAMIT and I decided to cut out one of the taillights. For months I have been all over the place trying to figure out what to do since i shaved the windsplits, well the answer came when I picked these frenching buckets and Lee lenses up from Dan right here off the cl***ifides. After we got the aperature cut, we taped some of the Olds molding to the side to get an idea. Shoud have most of the suspension parts in over the next week or so to get things ****on up'd on the *** end. What do you think?
Like asking for pics of my kid..... Though I hope to show some real progress over the next few weeks, here are few of the old standbys...
Great progress! Hey I gotta know. What kinda boat did your steering wheel come from and how hard was it to adapt it to your column? That is a great wheel! Justin
Hey guys, thanks for the swell words. Al I been good, you? The boat wheel was a gift from =mike=, and though nails the look, I don't think it's a real rarity in the marine world. I see similar ones advertised at West Marine, etc. When I got it from =mike=, he supplied the needed machined shaft to weld up to my Camaro splined steering shaft, but I just used some key stock to wedge it in place. Works great for local cruising, but before the trek to Paso in May (that's the goal), I'll have to have it seriously attached. I hope to have old 5-1 a last minute surprise entry in a certain reliability run next month,, but that's top secret (shhhh don't tell rogue, I want it to be a surprise ) It might be ugly, but it should run like a scalded dog!
hey man that tailight treament looks nice always a big fan of the windsplits but shaving it and flippin the tailights looks real good too another kool idea is to kant the tails and keep the windsplit gives it a cat eye look keep it up
