    What drum brakes can you use on a banjo rear besides 40 - 48 car ? Jay

    Also, pattern is same as '37-48 front, so any backing plate that will go there, like F1 or F2, adapted Buick or '62 Chevy, etc. will fit IF it can clear the big bearing surface and IF you can come up with a drum arrangement. I have heard of using '40 hubs with modern drums, and this has been done many times with Buick drums, also Ford pickip, but I don't have any direct experience.
    Some late axle conversions add late Ford axle tube end flanges, too, giving a direct to late Ford transplant.
