Alright ladies and gents i can't seem to find out what is going on this year with the world of wheels in chicago. What gives? Is this show not happening this year or what?If someone has some info please let me know i always look forward to this show so i don't wanna miss it!Thanks in advance.
Instead of being at McCormick Place. This year it is supposed to be at the Rosemont convention center. I have been invited to bring my car. I'll call and see whats up.
Thank you guys for the info this is a show for me every year that is a must! I met Jimmy Shine a couple years back and last year met George Barris at the world of wheels and didn't wanna miss it this year.
Bringing this back to the top since the show is next weekend. I'll be there working the Wizards Products booth. Anyone else going? Any after show activities going on?
We are going at some point on Saturday. I have to go into work for a bit on Saturday and happen to work in Rosemont so we figured we'd stop by.
No, unfortunately this show has gotten disappointing enough to the point that not many folks feel it is worth attending.
Hopefully with the show at the Rosemont this year it wont take 3 hours to get your car out after the show on Sunday, McCormick place was always a pain in the ass in that regard. If anyone gives a crap, I'll be there all day Saturday in the booth with the Chi-Town Hustler and the Hawaiian funny cars. Bendi the Stroke and I will be Pinstriping up a couple of chicks, cuz we like doin' stuff like that. Stop by and say HI!!
Hmmm . . . sorry to hear that. I hope the attendance is still good for our sake since we'll have a booth there selling product!
But.... in the last few years it's been a little better - and now it's even closer to Wisconsin. VooDooLarry's handling the traditional area and the Chicago BrushMasters always have a lot of fun! Might be worth reconsidering, Jeff. Evil Step, Step Dad
There will be four of us stripers coming in from Michigan on Friday to jam with the Brushmasters.Hope I have recovered from Detroit by then.
I agree, it has been better the last few years (I've only seen last 10). More and more traditional homebuilt rods and kustoms. I'll be there and have also my car in the trad area.
talked to Larry yesterday - said they had over 60 car entries in the "extreme" section.......... hope everyone will come on down and say hey - I will be there selling all my normal junk later
We are in and mostly set up. Looks like it's going to be a great show. HUGE! Stop by the Wizards booth over by the bikes and say hi. I'll be the short guy with the shaved head in a purple shirt in the booth. Adam
Bull is right! Huge show and high quality! 600+ cars, trucks, & bikes. Looks to be a banner year. The Traditional section is lookin' good and so is the Chicago Brushmasters pinstripers charity auction spot. Be there or be a....Octogon! Joel
I was going to come down to help my ex move to her new apartment, and drop by the show, but going to have to pass now...
i'll be there at 3, halping some friends with the vintage race cars. just remember the show is closing early sun. I think 7pm.....
Last year, when they asked us (HRCC) to handle the traditional side of the show, everyone got excited. But in the end, the realities of McCormick Place, and the poor reputation of the show kept alot of cars at home. The cars that DID come were spread out across the show rather than into our area, so that didn't help either! We tried to tell them that change can't happen overnight. Seems like we had to take the fall too. So Tangerine Scream will be there, and we'll have the new black F-100.
I thought this was a much better show then previous years. It seemed like there were many more traditional cars. Make sure you catch the black F-100 it's incredible.
Great show. Met lots of nice people at our booth. Lots of work and got home around 5am today. Hopefully we'll be back with a booth again next year.
