Nice to see you guys had a great show and so many people enjoyed it. Comgrats to you for pulling it off, I know how hard you guys worked. I'm going to try and get back there for another one real soon.

Hi Bruce! Even with the rain, everyone was smiling. I think there is a good chance this show will happen again next year.:D Or come to the BP Drags later this year if it can be arranged. Maybe you need another cruise? lol Mike

On behalf of the Salvagerz Car Cub, we thank the Poor Boys for having us, and Alan and Melissa for putting it on. Can't control mother nature but the turn out was better than I had expected. The location was great with plenty more room to grow. Driving through downtown with hot college girls walking to school was a bit of a distraction( had two close calls) but none that I wouldn't consider going up there again.LOL

I would like to thank all of the people who attended the show for their dedication to this "hobby". If you don't support your local shows...guess what...there may not be a next one! There are plenty of shows with Billet laden hot rods and muscle cars out the wazoo in this state but very few with real hot rods, traditional cars, and customs. Our club is looking forward to the BP Drags in October and BP 2011.

  11. what did you guys use to make those? and how did you make the championship belt? both looked really cool

    super secret process!!! ;)

But it involves architectural sign foam, gold leaf, metal flake and a very talented pinstriper.

I'm not a trophy guy. That said, I have to say that having a limited number of trophies designed/made/judged/presented by clubs is one of the best ideas I have ever come across. These things really mean something. A lot of blood, sweat and beers went into them. They make everything else (including the oscars and nobel peace prize) shallow by comparison. I salute you!

  15. Thanks to everyone who KNEW it was going to be Florida (wet) cold, and rainy, and still got into their pride and joys and drove them from all over the Southeast (and PA, NY, MI, etc. etc.) to be with us in Gainesville. It shows a lot of heart, and dedication to making Billetproof Florida special for all of us.

...and just think how good next year will be a few weeks later in the year, in what will be an even greater venue next year when mother nature doesn't try to ruin it.

Bands, good food, quality vendors and swap meet items, model car contest and the the most under-estimated hot rodders in the country!!! And we still have a few tricks up our sleeve...

Can't wait for BPFL11 and the Drags Oct. 24th in Lakeland!!!!

She loves to spin it around and around. Cool idea using a water pump in the middle.

  18. A big thanks to Alan and Melissa for their p***ion to do what they do. Thanks to ALL of the Florida Poor Boys for their hosting Billet Proof Fla. I took some time to look at all of the trophys and was impressed by the talent of all of those who shared their craft in recognition. It was my plan to go and hang out with some cool cars and their owners. I was really surprised when Poor Boys Glenn Hayes and Dave Payette (of Roosters Hot Rods) told me that my coupe was picked for "Best Hot Rod". I'm not a "trophy *****" but I have gotten a few picks in the the past and some of them have some value to me. But none has as much as this one. The trophy is a work of art that I will display proudly. Created and presented by people whose opinion I value.

Even though I am not a car owner I had a great time at the show. Lots of friendly people, great time Friday night at Market Street and wonderful variety of cars. Could have done without the rain and cold but the afternoon was spectacular.
