just got a hold of some 4inch angled lowering blocks have 2inch in the car currently.want to install the 4inch blocks in my 49 chevy (open drive)will there be enough clearence to drive around without hitting the frame.did a search and seen people saying yes and no i know i might have to raise the tunnel no problem. but want to see if i can run these without bottoming out hard?whos running leafs with 4inch blocks hows the ride?
hope these pictures help... this car was air bagged. after the notch was cut in i made some plates to go each side to make it stronger..
let me clarify. is 4inch lowering blocks the limit before it hits the frame.car will be kicked in a month or 2 so can i cruise around with 4inch blocks for now?
Are your bump stops still there? You'll probly be close to them, you'll probly hit em a bit, but you definetly won't be the first guy to drive around like that.. Just do it, it's only for a month or two right?
I ran 4" blocks on my '49 back in the day. Stock drivetrain except changed to a Powerglide rear gear. No problems whatsoever.
got 4 inch blocks on my '53. the only reason I had to raise the tunnel was due to the 6 inch c-notch. Hell with it all the way down I can still cruis around pretty good. Just gotta watch those pesky man hole covers...
