Hey guys, I've got a 62 falcon wagon with a 170 inline 6 and a 2 speed Fordomatic. The car wont shift out of first until you drive a while, but once it shifts, it will shift the rest of the day. Local ****** shops have no clue, any help would be appreciated. Thanks, JR

Sticking valve in the valve body or, quite possibly, a governor problem??

Someone else mentioned it might be a govenor problem, any advice on verifying it. It has new fluid, I'm pretty sure just regular old Napa fluid for fords. Thanks, JR

Sounds like something sticking inside there. Put some trans-x in, it can help loose what is sticking. You should be using Type F fluid. Same as all the older Ford auto trans used.
