Cool looking answers on this post how about how many of ya run them 1/4 and what kind of times best to date on 70s did a 12.9 at 112 mph
How much power are the folks making with Weiand or B&M 174/142 style blowers? With 7-8 psi, about 400-450rwhp? I never had a old car with a supercharger, but I had an OT car with a Vortech YSi that went 9.4@144 on a 1.35 with 680rwhp and 18 psi.
22 seconds. Impressed? Maybe I should explain. In 1986 a local group was having a Harleys & Hot Rods show at the local strip, I had resisted racing it before this but thought I should finally give it a try. Spent the whole week before getting the car ready-plugs, carbs freshened up, probably switched to the 4:11's, even had the muncie out and apart to make sure it wouldn't have any issues. First p*** drop the clutch, take it to 6500-7000 in first then I miss second gear. (yes, I said second gear, talented huh?) Motor goes to who knows what RPM, timing chain breaks, bends every exhaust valve but still coasted through the lights in 22 seconds which I didn't figure was too bad considering. Next spring I had the heads redone and for some reason put in a slightly smaller cam. Darn thing started getting 14-15 mpg on the highway (10 mpg before) so I haven't changed the setup since or raced it again.
Maybe should learn to shift before you go to the track..lol but pretty good time for a first gear launch..
To Pro Stock John yes making low 400 to the rw but still have a few tricks up my sleeve will let you know next dyno run
