Well, my 29 Dodge bros sedan went bye bye in exchange for a 47 Plymouth Special De Luxe 4 door sedan. Somthing bout 40s cars just do it for me, and my flathead really needed a new home. Its got a decent black laqure over teal laqure over burgundy laqure paint job that is buffing out quite nicely. Floors need a bit of work, but its pretty solid. Plans are to patch the little bit of rust, finish the motor swap, and get it running and driving basically like it is. Make it look like a stocker with that bad ass flatty. Enjoy
Nice score, those are great rides. Looks like it is in damn nice condition, will make a nice cruzer, my pal calls a 4-door, "no waiting", got your own door-- pile in!! You should have a blast with that rig. Congrats! ~Sololobo~
Nice score! Got to love the more doors. I like all the room I have in the back if I ever need a place to sleep!
I think these cars are great looking .. finally found my 48 dodge town sedan 3 years ago.. still a project ..good luck with yours ..
well iv been makin steady progress on the ol girl. First thing i did was yank the stock motor and trans out, and cut the stock cross member out. Then it got a good bath, and came back into the shop for disassembly. Rear brakes are finished, and fronts are apart waiting for parts. While i was at it, i douched the frame in rustolium to have somthing clean to set my butt on. Got my 54' motor in , and tacked in the new tranny crossmember. Trying to sell another OT car so i can buy these http://store.cokertire.com/tire-sty...ll/600-16-coker-classic-3-whitewall-tire.html The ball is rolling.
Heres a quick video of the motor for those that missed it the first go around! <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/smyHCN2DNC8&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/smyHCN2DNC8&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Glad to see the motor again, and the new home is nice too! Hope it settles down and is willing to pull that big ol 4 door! That thing is screaming for some vintage cutouts: cruise quiet and sleeper, then open it up to yell and everyone is looking around for where it's coming from!
Man this is was a killer deal. My most recent hard on is interior work and I'm stoked he threw in the seats with the rest of the deal.
