Could anyone clue me to the year of these caddy caps? Sorry for the poor quality photos. I think that the second pic (the 'smoother' of the two, is like a 49 or 50 but I need to know for sure.) Thanks, Scott
Anyone? Someone must be able to tell me roughly what year these are. I've done some image searches and haven't been able to nail down the first pic year at all. Scott
the second one is a 42-52 came in 15 & 16 inch, the first is a lot newer is it a 14 or 15 inch I'm thinkin 14 70 til 90's vintage roger
I think the 2nd one is actually an aftermarket copy of a Cadillac cap. The factory one had more depth in the cross section, and the emblem was more deeply inset.
how to figure this stuff out: http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&source=hp&q=cadillac+hubcap&btnG=Search+Images&gbv=1
I actually googled up these image results and became all gun shy when I clicked on one of the images (of the '68 cap with a spinner) and a message box popped up on my screen about my computer being vulnerable to attack and did I want to run their 'software'. Anyhow, with the early cadillac caps (47 or 48 to 52) do those style caps need a deeper than normal wheel to attach to? Thanks, Scott
Bummer...you need to get a better web page browser, or learn to set it so it won't let popups popup. Firefox is pretty good.
The 2nd is definitely a 49 Cadillac. Not absolutely sure on the 1st but sure looks like 68-70..could be Eldorado.
The one on the RH is a 1950-52 Cadillac “Sombrero” . In those years the “sombrero was polished stainless steel as opposed to chrome-plated. The latter being for 1947-49 . The LH, newer, cap is probably a 1968-9 special cap for a Fleetwood with the body colored inset.
