Heya folks- I'm trying to track down any information regarding those older Offy intake manifolds w/ 'dual ports' (please correct me if I'm saying that wrong). I'm referring to the ones where they had two intake runners for each intake port, one large diameter and one small. The small runners all hook up to a plenum for the primary barrels on the carburetor. There is a second plenum hooked up to the secondary side of the carb which feeds the larger diameter runners. I've tried searching but was unsuccessful. Did they work or were they worth a damn? Any info appreciated! Thanks!
What engine are we talking about here? For example, you can still buy OFFY dual port (or whatever they call it) intakes for Ford 300 engines. I only know because I had shopped around awhile ago. And, yes, they do apparently help with low-end grunt.
Saw a test that included them on a SBC w/ a mild cam, i.e. probably an ideal cam for the intake. Power was below stock intake under 4000 & only slightly better peak. The Performer & Weiand dual planes were better.
Sorry 'bout that. It'd be for a relatively stock 350sbc w/ a mild cam & headers. Thanks for the comments! Any others?
I remember when they came out but they were kind of a flash in the pan so they didn't ever catch on. I have seen a couple for sbc at swapmeets. I think on the 300-6 it is the only way to have a dual plane. I had one of those ordered from PAW once but it was on back order for so long I finally cancelled it.

I'm running one on the SBC in my 55. I picked it up new from PAW Just under 200 bucks. I like it. I can definately feel when the secondaries kick in.
