Interesting find

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Dr. Fishstein, Mar 4, 2010.

  1. Found this at the bottom of a box of old car magazines I picked up at a junk store. It is dated 1954.

I'm just going from memory but that magneto on the front looks a lot like the one I had on a 1948 Allis-Chalmers Model C.

That is voodoo stuff man. You want no part of it. Send it to me, I will hang it on my shops' wall, to keep it from tormenting anyone else. I'm a nice guy like that. haha.

I didn't know F-M made magnetos for gas engines; I thought they mainly made diesels. They made the EDG (emergency diesel generator) for the last ship I was on, which I had to know for my ESWS qualification.

It seems that this publication, Bulletin FM123, is sought after by tractor restorers. Do you have the whole thing or just the cover?

I would suggest having a copy made of it in card-stock, so you can hang it if you want, and put the original in a plastic sleeve and put in a dry area in your home...Bryan

  12. It is a complete publication, I have two others that I also got, will post pics of them. I collect anything engine related. I also have one of those old x-ray type books for Nordberg Diesels.
