What is this metal working tool for?

    I found this brake/ metal folder. What are the applications and is is it any good for general metal work on a vehicle?

    It's called a bar folder. It can do a low depth full 180 brake. Good for replacement deuce grill bars.

    I'd like to see some better pics of it. Kind of hard to tell what it is/does.

    It looks like it says "22ga mild steel" under the brand? If that's the case, it won't do much for automotive stuff. Probably more of a ductwork or other tinwork tool.

    That's cool. Would it originally have been used to make interlocking flanges for tinwork?

    You can see the piece I folded with it in the second picture. i think you could do 20ga no problem.
    I wonder what else could be done with it?
    What was the original use?

    Yep I just bought an old 14ga Whitney Jensen 4' combination box pan brake from an equipment dealer and the book for it shows doing 180* and inter locking folds as well as 8" deep box's, radius bends ect. Take delivery next week along with a 52 Wysong stomp shear:)
