49 merc update

  2. I'm really digging this Merc. Love the fender wells! It looks like it has a very mild chop.

    Fantastic photos CONNMAN....

    Never seen those before.
    Only other photo I have of this car before the scallop was added to the side of the body is this one. I think it comes from the Greg Sharp Collection and was used in TRJ...

    I just checked what I thought I remembered.
    In TRJ issue #36 this photo is used in the back. It was used to shown the use of the 55 Lincoln tailights used on "Nadine". The car is owned by Dick Schneider from Bell, CA.

    I think I have seen it in an later 50's small size magazine as well.. perhaps only one photo and not a feature article.
    I will keep my eyes open for more... great mild/wild custom.

Sectioning any car is a Major Job,,yet alone a '40 Coupe ,,and painted GOLD ???

    That shop next door to Barris' shop was Dean Jeffries' Shop ,,loved his white '48 Merc Deluxe Convertable ,,and his good work ,,i had takin' pics there ,,but ,,,they got lost over the years ,,at least i can't find em in the boxes of a couple thousand pics i have ,,,
