Moon rev counter??

Im looking for a bit of info on this rev counter... is it actually a Mooneyes one as i've never seen the logo without the eyes or with that font... then again wern't they made by Autometer in USA???

Looks more like an old Sun tach......

 

A Chinese copy of a Japanese made Tach. or a Japanese copy of a Chinese made Tach.

 

That's different...I know old Mooneyes gauges were U.S. Gauge and the tachs were Jones Motorola. I don't know when they switched but I know a new one doesn't beat and old one. Ask anyone who has purchased one of the new paperweight tachs. I have no idea when Moon went to Japan but I'd say that piece is late seventies early eighties. Otherwise, neat piece.

Just my opinion...and it's probably wrong.

yeah i'm also guessing '80s but still none the wiser as to what it actually is??
