thanks jeffrey, yes it is. he changed the rear side glass after the drawing was done. he wanted to leave the 4 door glass so people could tell it used to be a 4 door. it sure turned out nice. sorry about the shitty quality of the scan.

some reaeaaaaally talented cats on here!

here's a quicky i did based on a car that Bobby Green of Old Crow Speedshop found. The car is sectioned super hard, and has a 49 stude roof mated to it... it super funky, and to me the flow is all wrong, so i figured i'd take a run at it for the fun of it, keeping the majority of it intact, but refined.

    Here's the car:

    And my thoughts.:D

For those who cant read my chicken scratch, here's a breakdown of how i would attack it... :D
    Roof:
-Chop it 3" in the front, 3.75" in the rear
-Add door frames to close in the space, and make it feel like less of a disconnect between the later era roofline and the earlier body style
    -Lean the b-pillar forward
-I've left the angle of the back glass alone to save some aggravation. They're just cut down.
    Body:
-Lower the headlights (and consider smaller buckets). Right now, they sit so high that they scream dune buggy instead of classy bitch.
-I figured I'd add some kind of venting to break up the nose. My thoughts are something along the lines of the 41 Buick style hood side vent, but running the length of the hoodline.
-Skirts that follow the shape of the newly extended and re-shaped rear fenders.
-Ditched the pedestal TL's for something a bit more streamline.
-New rear bumper is shaped to follow the rear contour, with exhaust cut outs at the corners.

The whole point of my redesign is to make the car feel a bit more ...designed. Right now it kinda feels like a mishmash of stuff, and the hard section paired with a unchopped (or at least high on that car) roof line looks weird and disconnected to me.
    and so we have..."the Dictator"

My favorite part of doing this stuff is scratching out stuff with the customer. Grabbing whatever's handy and jotting down whatever comes up. I haven't done a real sit down drawing in forever...I miss it!

Zombie Nice! Do you use french curves etc.? Maybe I need to go back to those used em for years at work… rebelled when I left. Just draw now… I might start using ellipses on the tires at least… hmmmm!?

    Some good ones Conder

Hey Dart165 is your art done on Wacom w/Painter? Or Ol' style w/markers & thinner? Either way is cool w/me just asking.

Thanks for the positive comments. :)
-Eye Bone, i use a tablet, and photo shop, but i sketch most of the time with felt tip style pens.

As per more quick sketchy stuff, I found this old speedster body on Ebay. It was in pretty poor shape, and there wasn't much left of it, but something about old boat tails (no matter how home made) is super intriguing to me. I wish i kept the original pictures of this so you could see better what the body looked like. The rear had this weird splash panel that resembled a manatee... yeah the sea dwelling mammal. ...thus the Random name. :D

Thanks! For the info… I like your style.

Hey I remember that thread… your concept for it is great… you going to build it? Or just a concept?

The only conceptual rendering I've done... unfortunately it got sold before it got built, but he claims he only sold it cuz he had a line on a nicer '37... so there will be a similar rendering of the '37 in the future.

nah i saw it and decided to sketch over it. I forget if i found it on ebay and posted it here, or if someone else did. Regardless, i just thought it would be a cool starting point for someone with the time and know-how to make it work.

Who is the guy that does those KRAZY drawings in the Kanter catalogs? Anyone have any of his work they can post? I'd love to see something larger than the tiny thumbnails they print, but even then there's so much to look and laugh at!

posted this in the art show, but i figure it fits better here anyway... I quickly sketched these up for a fellow hamber with a 36 that he is trying to decide direction on. Here's a few of the possibilities i came up with for him.
