Trying to figure out the timing on a 58 Olds. Does anyone know if this is correct? 3 timing marks on the pulley...from left to right= 10 degrees,5 degrees, 0 tdc? I've heard to in neutral @ about 500 rpm should be at 5 degrees, and total timing 16 degrees?

You're right it's 10°, 5°, 0° Timing Marks. Set it on the middle one at 5° BTDC at 850 RPM according to the Tune Up Specs Repair Manual I have. Pull & Plug the Vacuum Line off the distributor, if your's has one.
    Hope that helps.

helps a bunch man, very much appreciated! tried looking for the info but had no luck...didn't wanna just do the "it's about there, should be good enough". The idle don't wanna come down below 1050 there's a leak on the carb gasket so i'll fix that and lock in the timing. thanks again.
