just picked up a 51 nash amb***ador in pretty decent shape. runs ok, not alot of rust. missing a few parts though. blinker covers rear tail lights.
Anyone know a place to find parts for these things other then the norm?

Going to try and make a custom out of it. Seen some with paint, or wheels or minor stuff. no true customs. first thing will be to lower it till the wheels disappear. interior and paint. anyone with pics of one of these done up? Love to see one.

I'd recommend the Nash Car Club of America, and even CL. I wouldn't tell the NCCA you're gonna do anything other than "preserve and restore" as they are a nice bunch until you do.

I have a huge file of pics, but most are ****s. I need to dig some up for you.

I agree the Nash car club of America is a good place to start. I have 2 51 statesmans 1 for parts. I think the statesman shares the same parts. If that is the case I have some rear lights, but the crome is gone and I ended up painting them. If you want them let me know. I also might have some other parts, let me know what you need.

I checked out the NCCA web site and found that it isnt a very good one. the cl***ifieds are set up really strange. locklahn- i will look at what i need and let you know. the two lenses i need are about round and about 3 inches. back up lights i think
and one of the parking/blinker lenses for the front, left side.
    thanks

It's a Club. Join in and use the MOL (members on line) and you will get responses... and also hook up with other '51 owners from the roster. Ask for what you want. They are friendly and very helpful. Us Nash owners are rare anymore. There are a lot of parts and knowledge inside the site, but you just gotta ask.

Everything I have trim-wise is two-door or '49-'50 specific, except 'tween my ears. Way too much info in my attic...

My extra front blinker gl*** lenses are broken in half but everything is there if you want to try to make a mold and create your own, or just glue them together. My parts car does have the backup lights but there only about an 1 1/2. I'll take some pictures tomorrow so you can see what they look like.

thanks for looking. i will messure the rear lights and see if i was mistaken about the size. thing about those is i have not seen any other cars with the lights i have. started to wonder if they were aftermarket. ill get a pick up.
Ill take the blinker lenses off your hands. let me know what you need. Ill try to fix them first then try to mold them . well see.

I got a lot of grief when I told them I wanted to do a "never offered" red interior that looked stock. I never told them my plans after that, but I have found parts and information that don't exist elsewhere.

And I have seen signs that they are loosening up on the extreme at***udes. There is ever an awards show category for modified and customs now, and a RestoMod recently got best of show, too.

Play it for what it's worth. Airflytes are a real weirdo's car (especially mine), but the NCCA is a decent club, for what it is.
