  1. Well I am kicking it around also. I would love to see it next to the Fiat.

Totally, I could just see them side by side, the only thing better would be them on the track side by side! It's at least 500 miles or more, but maybe we can make it happen! Stay tune!

  3. Well I just checked and I am 250 miles away. We will have to see. It would be neat!

I stumbled on to this link:

    http://www.kenlowe.com.au/nostalgia_photos.htm

scroll down to bottom of page to see an altered of same vintage as 'thumper' car. ..red fuel lines, red balls in injectors, but also check out big chrome tach....might be like the one that would have been in 'thumper'. Fun to read the guy's memories of his cars.

Regarding tank with pump in cap, a HAMBer ( CONNMAN ) on another thread said this:

"Moon offered the hand pump in the early years ,,,had one on my chopped model A two door w' a Lincoln V-12 Flathead when i was in hi school in the '50's ,,only fuel tank n pump it had ,,J C Whitney sold a copy cat version back then too ,,i remember seeing early Moon tanks w' the hand pump on Dry Lakes and Bonneville Speed Record cars in the late '40's - '50's in magazines back then too..."

Great find and what history, that guy had! Ya, that tach is what we need to find! Not new, though.

Again, nice find and time line too. 40s-50s makes sence for that this car started with a flat head! Wish we could find pics of her back then!

Great looking project, your going to have a blast running it down the track even if its 1/8 mile. The feeling of an old car like that must be something to know you are running history. Thanks for sharing your project.

I saw this pic in an old (and bad) issue of Drag News from 1961...it caught my attention quickly since it looks so much like 'Thumper'. I thought I'd share it.

Now I'm going to show my lack of knowledge...What's a 'stovebolt'? The reason I ask is that in some of the articles about MN Dragways it mentions "Vern Anderson drove sparkling red stovebolt comp coupe..."

Found a Chevy to Caddy belhousing. But, missed out on a '32 sedan body. Still need '32 sedan body or body parts.

Well we're off to the Topper car show with the Comp. Coupe. this weekend in West Fargo, ND.

    Thanks "tomjac" again!

I traded a '02 lawn mower trailer (the one I hauled my riding lawn mower tractor with) even up.

I was at an auction and seen a guy loading it up with stuff. I told him, I like your trailer, he said he got it from an old guy that built it to haul a Model A in the '40s and '50s to shows and he showed the Model A coast to coast with this trailer.

So I showed him my trailer and I said I'd trade you trailers. He said why?
I said, I like the old school look! Then he said OK.

This trailer, towed behind my '51 Ford, with the '32 Comp. Coupe on it?
To the track or down town, would be fun!
