My buddy Rex (Rex at Lowbrau Lines on the HAMB) laid down some scallops for me today. They look killer. White with a little green pearl in there. Still got to put the pinstriping around them but it was getting late today so he will do that this week. What do you think ??

Wow, nobody chimed in yet...? Well, I'm going to start, and just like on american idol, you might not like what the judge thinks!! I personally would have put more on...just seems to look out of place the way it is. Maybe in person it would look better, but I still think it could use more scallops. Hey, I'm not trying to be rude...you asked what people thought, and I tried to be as decent/honest as posssible. They look like they are done nice, but I do think more would look better.

I love anything scalloped, and this is off to a good start, but the one on the hood looks kind of lonely to me. I think it looks good, but like 333 said above, it needs more. I would do something with your real estate on the roof, and maybe some more down the sides. It's comin along tho!

    Maybe the top's of the fender's too? My 1st car was a '56 210 4door wagon too, Kerry67.

First, I gotta say you got a real nice wagon there! I like that you put chrome wheels and thin whitewalls on it. Gonna get some for my wagon as soon as I can afford them.
Myself, with the tire wheel combo I would have went with a more early 60's style, maybe regular paint with metalflake or white on the roof. That said the scallops are ok, but like the others said, it needs more. It's a wagon, you got a lot a space to cover.

Nice car though but the scallops look like an afterthought or an easy add on. When you commit to something like that you have to really commit to it and go all out. I'm not trying to knock your ride by any means. It just looks like you added scallops for the sake of adding something. Needs a little more thought. Keep us posted.

Sorry, but I'm not feelin' it.

For one thing, the top scallop line is parallel to the chrome trim, while the bottom scallop line thins to a point, gradually drawing away from the bottom line of the body.
I realize that was deliberate in the design, but the overall effect looks like some of the poorly aligned decals we put on models as a kid.

Then again, don't pay me too much mind. I never was a big fan of scallops.

    Nice wagon, BTW! :D

Yeah, I plan on flaking the roof.....Wow, nobody likes the hood. Too me it looks cool because it kind of follows the chrome. Plus, like I said, still got have the pinstriping put around the edges. Maybe that will help it even more.

When he comes back to do the pinstrie/edging, have him add some to the fenders above the side trim, get some color up there as well. then have him tape off some more on the hood, at least towards the outter edge. I think it would look better with a bigger/more scallop design on the hood, and get rid of the orniment on top of it. By having him tape some you can get an idea of what it will look like, and if you like it he can go ahead and paint some on. To me I've never thought that, with scallops, less is more.
What color are you going to flake the roof? Have you considered having it scalloped? Maybe throw some up there for now...

I am thinking green flake on the roof. The interior is green/white so that should tie it all together. Probably will not add more scallops right away, just do to our schedules, but possibly down the road. Definately some more pinstriping is on the way.
