Here's one that I've been wanting to build for many, many years. The Lou Baney/Don Prudhomme, "Shelby Super Snake" 427 Ford SOHC powered Top Fuel Car.

The basic paint job is just white. All of the stripes are decals. They were custom made for me by my good friend Skip Samples. There's over 8 hours of decal work in this car.

Beautiful!! :) ..... Here's one I started on not long ago.. The "little guy" on the box insisted that I start on this kit for him. The poncho 389 motor is almost complete. I still have a ways to go yet..

  3. Beautiful work;I can relate to the long decal application. I used to build 1/43 scale resin and metal kits years ago,and Saturday was "decal day";basically the whole day would be just applying decals to various projects. The wife(the first-and "good"-ex) took my calls and kept the disturbances to a minimum. Thanks,Karen.

I've still got some stuff that I built boxed up;should pull 'em out and present some pics here. I've seen some fantastic work here every Sunday-keep 'em coming!

  4. Love the Cammer rail- nice job. Love the sound of cammers.

I'm posting these again 'cause I was rather late last week. A build from 10 or so years ago- A Lindberg '53 Ford.
Once again sorry for poor photo quality. Cheers!

holy stripes on that dragster! that looks great!

I finished my sectioned shoebox this week. Inspired by the Ron Dunn car. Built from the AMT 49 coupe with modelhaus wheels and tires.

OK Here's one I did awhile ago, note color and graphics!
Its 39 Chevrolet coupe turned convertible. Chevy did not make any convertibles in 39. The motor, suspension and wheels are all Corvette ZR-1 as are the dash and seats. Mel:D

Yep... Once again, the members of KKIM got together for our annual spring meet in Davenport Iowa.... Hard to believe it's been 25 years!!!
As always, there were lots of cool models on the tables and lots of good times happenin' all around the room...

Frank LuQue brought in a set of Rock'Em, Sock'Em Robots to use a back drop to the "big" full bodied fuel altered show down between he and I....
The match was declared a draw!!!!

On the other Side of the ring, we had Frank's AWB Valliant, The "Little Varmint" and my "French Tickler" Renault...
    Again... Too close to call!!!

Bruce Beintima's coach built '39 Chevy... COOL!

Tom "Sparky" Border's Falcon Gasser... He blames me... LOL. ???

From the twisted mind of Russ Roinestad....Part Chevy, part Buick, Part Cadillac... All Cool!!!

Scott's "Zombie Fly", Weezner Challenge project.... The level of detail on this model is simply mind blowing!!!

While not exactly "HAMBable", Kerry Ingram's custom semi project was too cool not to share!

Craig "Mr. Metallic" Stansfield's 60's style '32 Ford pickup... Pictures just don't do this model justice!

This '59 Oldsmobile, built by Dennis Wilson, of St. Louis, was displayed by Frank Leisnig... Simply gorgeous!!!

Everything about Brian Johnson's '49 Merc sled is just so darn right... Yes, that's a George Barris signature on the hood!

KKIM Prez... John "JonDutch" Berry's Weezner Challenge project... Meet George Jetson!!!!

Kerry made us all look bad, by displaying not one, but two finished Weezner builds... This is his "Down n Blue" '32 coupe...NICE!

Winner of the "Bowled Me Over" traveling trophy... Bill Weeber's killer '49 Buick.

Winner of the "Lunatic Fringe" award... Kerry Ingram's wild '59 El Camino!!!
Lots more to see at the link...

Good morning everyone, looks like spring, this morning, in the Mid South. I can feel the local short track season, just around the corner. Here's some more race cars!

I don't understand the 57 plymouth hubcaps because they're too young for that style, but the car looks great ! ;)

thanks zed, coming from someone with your modeling skills, I VERY much appreciate the compliment!

re the caps.... I agree but they looked the part and were in my box! :) I can barely keep the 1:1 project funded, gotta watch the $ on the 1:25s... its TOO easy to spend big $ with Modelhaus!

Some nice stuff from the PA meeting Lyle, thanks for posting those.

Although I no longer build models, I love to check out what you guys are doing every week, and this week is exceptional. Thanks for all the postings.

Here's on from the ancient days. I painted this with real metalflake and that's what got the judges' attention in the 1963 Revell Pactra National contest....it was the only flake model there, as flake had just come onto the market. Imagine Pactra giving the award to a car that didn't use pactra paint...that's honest. It was just a body on wheels, I didn't even build it and was in competition only for the paint award. My friend, Cornell Chirila, did scupt a state of the art body though, didn't he? X-sonic influenced, of course!

Nice stuff. The white primer 5 window is cool, and stripes on the dragster make a neat project.

Great job! I started one inspired by the Ron Dunn car. Sectioned with 53 studebaker quarter panels flipped up side down. I'm also using the studebaker hubcaps.
