And how about reading the thread - Ford powered. John Force's Mustang bodied Funny Cars powered by Mopar, yeah very appropriate. Maybe you are not only on the wrong thread but also on the wrong forum.

    Truxx1956 and Couintrysedanman,
Yes I did my own wiring harness, the FI ECU is from Pantera Inc and when I got it the kit included a plug with about 36 wires and an instruction sheet telling you where they should go. Took about a month but it fired on the first try! And yes the engine is from a 2000 Escort and has VCT on the exhaust cam. I do have a channel in the ECU that will drive the VCT but have not taken the time to find out what the paramaters are to properly activate it. I understand it can really pickup the low to mid range which is what I would really like. I find that most of the time on the road is at around 2500-3000 rpm and a little more torque in this range would be great. I have put over 7000 miles on it since it hit the ground and am planning to put at least 3-4000 more on this summer if it ever quits raining!

It might be a mopar based motor but I doubt it has a part on it that can be bought at your local Chrysler/Plymouth dealer.

You got to watch it sometimes on here as if you stray off the narrow path it can get ugly.

This 300 powers my O/T Shop Truck.

And the 62 Monterey is sporting a 352 FE.
    Updated Engine and bare chassis.

Ford designed so many different and excellent engine families, why would you run anything else in a Ford.
