I know the 1950 to 1951 Merc bumpers are different in profile but will they bolt up to each others car body style and fit correct?
A 49,50,51 front or rear bumper with its orginal bumper brackets will bolt to the stock mercury frame. In other words they are all interchangable with the correct bumper brackets. Of co**** a rear 51 bumper would look just wrong on a 49/50.
Coletta the rears are obviously not interchangeable, 51's have longer finned quarters and the bumpers are contoured to fit around the fins. The front bumpers won't interchange unless you change the body metal that sits between the bumper and the actual body. With my '51 car, I'm going to re-run a '51 rear bumper, but I'm going to run a '50 front bumper since we had to remake the sheetmetal in front.
Great thanks, I knew the rear were not interchangeable but I found a front bumper for a 1950 and was just wanting to know if i could use it on my 51'.

The '51 front is more squared. For my '51 Merc, I will be running a '51 rear and a '50 front. I already had a custom front valance so I made the '50 work.
