Ok some folks I know have said, they dont have off seasons in car building. Well frankly, I am not one of them lol. This spring will find me putting my 31 Chevy Landau Phaeton together and on the road. Started on the wood in the doors, and will start the body later next month. Will have a good rolling chassis finished to put the body on. At the same time, he says with some confidence, I will be also working on either 1. 1963 1/2 Falcon Sprint Convert 2. 1964 Falcon Futura Convert with 4 speed 3. 1963 Falcon Futura Convert. (depends on which one I purchase) #1 car I looked at this weekend. Its scattered. No joy. I have to hang rear quarters, one floor pan. Then its wheres waldo with all the remaining parts to get it back together. Its a good car to build, but its a "project" #2 car needs the engine and trans put back in and made roadworthy. Floor pans are in, may need quarter work, suprise. But its close to a driver. #3 car needs some work, a driver at this time. So thats where I stand at the moment, how about some of you!
Ater I get home from the roundup it is full steam ahead on the 32 tudor project. 390 Cad,6-2s,turbo 350,Halibrand Q-change
finish fine tuning my 57 Fuely then starting another 40dlx coupe in about a month--it's already painted and rolling--eng and trans done--should be done by June I hope
I have to get on my Model A PU so I have something to drive this summer. but first I have to finish the construction of my garage. Its getting close, just need the electrical completed and the permits signed off
Ha.... Everything I own is a project! '27 Roadster '29 Sport Coupe '31 Tudor Sedan '34 Truck Spring is right around the corner, but these all started as winter projects. So much for that plan huh.... Kevin Ooltewah Speed Shop
Still trying to get the new engine built for the 55 and do alittle more body work on it then maybe start gathering parts for the 36 Ford 5 window
For the cadillac. Dual line M/C, braided flex hoses, carb rebuild, wire up the turn signals, trans adjust, new custom interior, floor repair/carpet, windsheild sealing, radio, hidden speakers & some stripe work.
1.I really need to get my 51 Merc going.I found someone who I want to do the body work and I think I found someone to rebuild my Hemi. Now all I need is the money. 2.Next in line my 35 Ford Pu.I have a SBC and a Turbo 400 waiting to be put in it. 3.Next in line my 31 Model A Closed Cab PU.I have a B motor for it and a Riley 4 Port, unless I find a coupe, roadster or rpu.
Working on the Diamond T truck, getting the "new" 6.0 LS engine in. Today got the radiator (from the '93 Chev van) mounted in the grill shell, and trimmed up the fan shroud to fit. It's a crossflow, aluminum, simply turned up on end, with the filler neck pointing down. I like using OEM radiators this way. Mounted the Reese hitch to rear of the frame, and trimmed the rear pan for the bumper brackets too. It's also from the Chevy van I'd bought as a donor. Chopping the windshield of the '59 Thunderbird by sinking it into the cowl, something I've always wanted to do. I LOVE the way this turned out, and am anxious to start work on the top, which is the original steel top, removable. I picked up a Buick Roadmaster wagon rear axle, a '93, to replace the original under the '51 Pontiac wagon. It's geared way too low, confusing the ECU for the LS engine. Should make the car much more enjoyable. Looking forward to my driveway drying out enough to get the '36 out and go for a ride! Brian http://flynbrian48.wordpress.com/
Still the A ,Started new job and I want to side the front of the house and Ill look for a car to buy ,After I get caught up .Im thinking truck and get rid of my 98 chevy ,Gonna go backwards ,Im thinking mid 60's chevy
Had some nice weather today, planned on some garage time with the 409 but........ I pulled the 57 150 out and took it on its maiden cruise. What a jewel, drove great for an 83K original stick six, got a lot of thumbs up and some goth kids at the gas station even had some good comments. Spring plans for it are an attitude/altitude change and a set of ralleys on pie crust tires. Then it is full speed on the 409. That is enough to keep me busy. Really glad to see some drying out around here.
First thing, I am going to build a 30x60 shop behind the house. After that I a have put off all car projects until the shop is built. 51 Ford, 31 Coupe, 72 IH crew cab hauler build, get the Fairmont to the track..............and on and on and..... CN
I love those. I should have the 49 Cad a roller by late spring/early summer. Then starting a chop on a 37 Zephyr Sedan.
Fixing the wiring problems, for good, on the Coronet. Start wrenching again on the '56 wagon, assuming I do not sell it in the meantime. Taking care of a few little detail items with the Terraplane. Do some shop improvements! Got rid of all but one of my project cars last year, so it'll be so much easier to concentrate on one and keep the other three non-projects on the road!
Spring project number one. Lately I've been working on patching up what is left of the underside. Not my car but it is on the list. I bought this thing a couple of years ago for 400 bucks and drove it home. I gave it to my Dad for his birthday. This year he wanted me to help him fix up the body work. I also have a OT AMC AMX that needs some lovin' too.
I'd like to get finish the body work on my '31 coupe and get it on a rolling chasis and start on a couple new projects once the caddy sells..probably 53/54 chevy bel air and 50/51 chevy 3100 truck
Finish up what little sheet metal work I have to do to Mustang, Install new engine, exhust, alinement, and go drive the piss out of it. Dustin
As soon as the snow has melted I have to see about getting an ancient 12x18 garage moved to my yard, if it's in good enough shape to survive the move. That will almost double the amount of indoor space I'll have, so I can empty all the crap out of my 12x20 garage. Then I'll be able to start tearing into the Essex for a much needed rebuild.
Wet sand & put the flames on the '48, bury the lace,,paint a '53 Bug, 2 Harley tanks & then to complete the hybrid brake rebuild on the Dodge truck.
