Somebody said use larger hose. A 5cfm compressor will bleed down to nothing no matter what size the hose is in only a few seconds when operating a sand blasting cabinet. You need more air, at least 20cfm, and even then, if you run the blaster continuously, the pressure will dwindle to where you have to pause and let it catch up.

It also sounds like a moisture problem. Mine would do the same thing as yours. I put a hose on just long enough to reach the blast cabinet and put on another moisture trap at the blast cabinet. Mine works just fine now.

I run two at once connected by air line only. Put one in the shop and the other in the garage. Just seperate them to bring down the noise. Better yet move both outside in a small shed or somewhere. I only run two when using the blast cabinet. works great.

we have an snap-on cabinet blaster at work and was having the same problem u describe, works good for a bit then slows down to nothing.the problem was corrected with an LARGER nozzle. your nozzle size is probably too small.do that first and u will probably find that it will correct your problem.it would be a shame and a waste of money to invest into major componets that u really probably don't have to.

Check over on the Garage Journal, and do a search. Those guys are uber **** retentive about stuff like this--they've got it broken down as to what cfm you need, complete comparisons of different compressors from different stores, etc. etc. etc.

i repeat do the nozzle change, unless whats really bothering u is the compressor u own, cause i'm sure if u buy that brand new compressor ,u will still have to size the nozzle to the proper size.

Before giving up on the compressor, check the cheap fixes first. Something I have found in using black beauty is that if you put too much of it in a siphon feed machine, the weight of the media packs so tightly that the siphon doesn't work well. I have about a 33 cfm compressor, so I knew it wasn't air supply. Empty your hopper completely and add just enough media to cover the siphon area, and try it again. If it now functions, then perhaps you are loading up too much media. Some trial and error will tell you how much you can put in your machine before the siphon effect suffers.
