Olds valve covers

gday guys i have some polished Olds valve covers and was wondering if they came out as a after market thing or did the polished ones come out on some engines. cheers

 

pics?.... olds had stamped valve covers... the only "polished" ones would be aluminum aftermarket finned valve covers... unless you have chromed isky stamped covers that are dimpled to clear adjustable rockers... we dont know what you have unless you show us haha

 

polished chrome or alloy?

I think some 394 motors had chrome valve covers from the factory, the high comp motors?

are there any markings on them at all?

Those are the ones on e-bay. Chromed stockies. But the side ribs look a little different and the 303-324 covers have a vertical rib at the bolt holes :/

the ebay ad says polished not chromed
so somebody (the seller) stripped the paint and polished them

 

In 58 I had a olds engine. I polished the valve covers and painted with a clear. chrome just cost to much.

 

yup those are the 53 covers, and polished as above, nice looking covers I was watching them myself...
