Just thought that i would give you a look at my current daily, an Australian built 63 Falcon Squire. Just completed its resto over christmas, now there are just a few things to finnish, but im happy driving the wheels of it at the moment. It was pulled out of a yard in a pretty sad state, but was near complete and not to rusty. I have put it back together mostly stock, with a change of engine and trans from 170ci 2-speed to 200ci & C4. 14" rims, and 4 inchs lower. The centre section in tan paint is just the base coat, i will hand wood-grain it down the track, like the fibergl*** trims, but finished look will be similar to a teak wood. For you who are in the U.S.A you may notice the different grill and less rear overhang on the Aussie model, and of course the obvious steering position. Future plans include Tripower manifold, and custom split exhaust. Hope you like. Kyle
very nice and im not a falcon guy, but that looks like it came of the show room floor. you did good. it also has an american feel to it. now wait for the "steerings on the wrong side" comments. lol.
Very cool! Excellent work, boy that was fast! I bought a 55 country squire once a bout 6 years back, parts were/are non-existent! James
Sorry if it reads like that, i've been working on it for two years now, just finished it around christmas time. I thought that was fast enough. Certain parts are scarce for this one too, as build numbers are only in the hundreds! Kyle
cool squire love the work you did on trim pieces anyway to get a shot of them closer ..and cool shades in the back
Kyle, look up the seller "kustomtrims" on ebay for the woodgrain. It's a mate of mine that brings the stuff into Australia from Germany. Top quality stuff.
After repairing the fibergl***, it was high fill primed then i sprayed it in a hand mixed cream with 'One Shot' sign enamel then airbrushed a gradation pattern in a brown followed by a dry brush skimming over the top in the same 'One Shot' brown. Im pretty happy with the result. i think the next lot will look better now i have some practice. Kyle Here's a few steps:
Great job Kyle! Would love one like that for a daily. A bit of a swap meet/ranch wagon. You've done an excellent job!!! HC.
That's beautiful....one of the coolest Falcons ever. 57 Wheelcovers with 3-bars, skirts, visor, shades, and all that work to get to woodgrain right. Nice. I would love to see what one of those front bumpers would look like on my American Falcon.
Kyle wow thanks for the photos looks wicked lol any plans on coming here for a visit i have all these pieces ..that would serve great for another lot lol again kudos for a job well done Rock
Here is a pic as promised for 'stationWAGONS' and anyone else that is wondering about the sun visor, it is a Ford Australia dealership accessory. It has a bulge in the centre to mimic the hood. Really popular with the aussie market. I have handmade the stainless end caps on my squire though, as i didn't like the way it overlapped the stainless guttering molds and interrupted the lines. Kyle
Very nice. The Aussie dealerships were allways trying to sell accessories to spruce up their basic 1960s cars.Venetian blinds, Sunvisors , Door handle scuff plates , Fender skirts, Plastic shields for the drivers window and mud flaps were popular .
