It's always nice when a man marries a woman who has an interest in customizing hot rods too.

Mine would have told me "that would not have happened if you had left a bumper on it"..She customized the drivers door on my daily p/u years ago and was crying so bad when she did it I could not say anything, but I did leave it that way as a reminder.

  5. Sounds like it should include "The day after Valentines Day" treatment.

Ouch I 'd rather get the golf club through my Escalade windshield. Better stay away from those Denny's waitresses.

Same as my passenger door. Driveway 16' wide, minus 7 or so for the truck= more room then a Toyota coupe should ever need.

My sister backed into my truck that is parked in the same spot every day. Cliped the rear and crunched her car good. She left me a note since she did it at 5am... Not that big of a deal. Told her not to worry.

This is what my wife did some time back. 1968 Chevelle SS 4 speed 396 CI. Got hit in the quarter panel, 1956 Desoto- totaled, 1962 VW damaged to rear end, 1968 Toyota Celica RH front fender damaged, 1975 Pontiac Astra totaled. She's been pretty lucky lately. I keep my 47 Ford in a separate garage. Maybe we could start a thread on who has the worst luck with damage by their wife's.

    1963...

sister (no experience with manual transmission) decided to move my 55 BA 2dr post/389 Pontiac engine/4sd) out of the folks' driveway so she could use their car. This was a 2car wide driveway, she had room to do it another way. She, of course, pops the clutch and in a panic, stomps on the gas, shoots across the street and smackdab into the neighbor's large OAK TREE -back bumper, trunk, wrinkled both rear quarters....

she is 2nd worst driver on the planet (our dad was and will always be first worst)

Well at least she offered to get you a new grill. At one time we owned two full size Dodge vans. I had parked mine behind my wifes so i could move my '46 Chevy in and out of the shop. My wife walks out of the house around the shop and jumps into her Van. Mine is parked directly behimd hers, about four feet...ful size van. She starts hers, drops it in reverse and backs right into mine. I heard the noise and knew exactly what had happened. Her van had the ladder and spare tire on the back which crushed her door and buckled my hood. She says "i didn't see your van behind me....." I got to fix them both. Just last year she walked in the garage in the morning and hit the button for the garage door opener. She had left the door open over night so when she hit the button it closed. She didn't notice, even though she had to walk right toward it as it was coming DOWN. Yup she backed right into it. Called me from the driveway and said it looks alright...it wasn't.

Yeah, my "Brand-X" tried to push a Dodge pickup out of the intersection
with our '59 Corvette. It broke across the tops of the fenders!
Bent the hubcap on the pickup.:D
That's what we endure for other things we want.

Big deal. It can be fixed.

I bet there are more people on this board that miss their wives than some old busted grille.

Report back tomorrow and let us know if she came through with a new grill. Maybe she can make it up to you some other way?

My wife backed out of our garage and ripped the mirror off her civic on the garage door frame. She came to where I work to tell me. She was balling her eyes out and all I could do was laugh.

Then when she got a new car, she went to her folks house. They live on a chicken farm and have a golf cart with a bed on the back to use around the farm. Now her dad was a truck driver for 30 some odd years and has probably driven backwards as far as I have driven forward. He jumped on the golf to go check on the chickens and backed ALL THE WAY DOWN THE SIDE OF HER BRAND NEW CAR!!!!!!!! Oh well, shit happens.

i know a guy that owned an H1..military humvee..and a 69 corvette. the wife drove the H1, he drove the corvette.
he came home and parked the Vette in the driveway , the H1 was in tha garage with the door closed.
he went in said hi to the wife, and she was leaving to go out with the girls.
He heard the garage door go up, than he heard the sound of of a 69 vette getting the crush of death from the H1 driving right over it.

I used to have a picture of the vette, but it was on an older computer that as since crashed.
It was not a pretty sight

but he was some top notched lawyer, and his wife was also making good money, so i didnt feel too bad for him, im sure the insurance company got a big laugh out of it when they rased his rates

So..it could be a lot worse

These stories remind me of one that happened to me a few years back.

I was in college, away from home without a car. I got a call from my mom, she said "I have some bad news. Your sister hit your car in the driveway." I asked "which one?" (I had a couple).

She replied "Your galaxie. Um, and there's more bad news."
    "What else?" I asked.

"She hit it with your Cougar".

Seems that her car had a flat, so she was going to take the Cougar to school. Wasn't used to the car, smacked it into my Galaxie, then panicked and backed it into the side of the garage. She had already filed an insurance claim and had a check waiting for me when I got home from school on a break.
