Could anyone identify this block for me?
this block is in the basement on our farm and i dont know what its from but it looked pretty old i was hoping someone could tell me what it is, the numbers are

Im not very good at this block identification thing actually i know nothing about it so if someone could help me out i would greatly appreciate it

1) How many cylinders
2) If it's a V configuration, is the distributor in front or back

 

its a 4 bolt main chevy
