Can anybody ID this engine?

    This was in an old service car (kind of like an informal he****). What the heck is it? I can't figure it out.

    looks like a ford to me with an hei unit. but i could be wrong?

  4. Looks like a Buick 400-455 based on the front dizzy and the collant inlet/outlet locations to me...definitely not an Olds, but the valve cover bolts throw me off??

    How come you never see any of these used in a hot rod? I suppose there are, but not that I have seen.

    I thought it looked like a GM engine but I didn't have a clue what. The dizzy told me mid-70's. Thanks gentlemen.

    X2. EGR valve shows it to be 1973-up.

    Looks like the old 430 Buick my mom used to have with HEI ignition added.

    buick!!!! I have a hard time tellin small block and big block buick apart. If it was in something big I would ***ume 455.

    400 1967 -1969

    430 1967-1969

    455 1970 -1976

    I,m gunna say 350 buick, 455s arent really very big though.
    but 350 is my final answer

    Looks like a buick. Look at the pictures of them on google images.
