Okay been busy creating a full custom look for the '49. wanted to do something to stand out and plus i love a challenge. here is what I did:

Bought a 1950 GMC truck cab and cut the windshield portion free. Grafted to my car after many many hours of measuring and planning...

enjoy the pictures, hope you like it. I do! :D

I'm glad it came out as well as it did. I hate to see the loss of an AD/ND truck but that's a cool sacrifice. Around here, that's about the best part of the dang things anyway. MI winters eat the steel from the door handles down!

I love that kind of creativity. Great skills displayed there.

THe only thing that i think would add to it would be fix where the rear of the hood meets the w/s area. You have this wicked looking V shaped widows peak on the roof line, and than this big sweeping arc going side to side. If you could match the hood lines to that, i think it would be incredible.

    Still, fan-freakin-tastic!!

Thanks everyone for all the nice things you have said.

Was very leery about posting in fear of getting bashed. I am just one guy in a 2 car garage trying to build a cool kustom. Learn as I go.

    :)

YEA man I like it! Dare to be different is a lot of work but well worth it when finished and onlookers cant figure out what you did . ( Nice job.) Its a ball standing back listening to guys trying to figure it out.I put two cars together a rear 1/2 Chevy Fleetline and a front 1/2 Desoto Airflow. It throws a curve to the car know it all's,a lot of fun screwing with them.

I'm diggin it too. Love customs. I'd have to agree with the base/hood comments but even that's just a small critique. Great concept. Doing a custom is always about improving the looks so you're a winner in that regard.

Thats bad***! It has a Merc look to it with the flat gl*** plus gonna make the windshield cutting alot easier to deal with.

    Good Job

NIce work, and I'm not trying to be picky, but the base of the w/s post ending abruptly at the cowl, with the little step, looks clumsy, and, as somebody else pointed out, the hood and w/s base lines should compliment each other.

    Everybody's a critic, right?:p

That "little hump" will be a small pc of stainless trim that matches the door beltline. It will be a nice ending to the beltline and otherwise would have looked odd if the door beltline just stopped. I have not cut it yet so can not demo it...

As far as the hood and windshield shape, yes that bugs me too, and I will address it, one step at a time.

Don't hate me here, but I see something. I've been looking at it a lot because it's so kool but I wanted to share what I see. The base of the W/S gl*** and the angle of the center strip and the "mean angle" of the door gl***. The overall angle of the W/S base at the center might want to exceed the overall angle of the door gl*** leading angle by a small percentage. It wouldn't take much and could be adressed when you get to the hood edge. Being flat gl*** you can doo whatever needs to be to make it all work. And oh yeah, oh yeah, the stainless trim finish idea kicks ***. Now if it's the picture angles doing it to me then disregard everything I said and call me a ****...
