Picked this up last weekend, a fellow hamber started the project and we have hopes of getting it done by the hambs. Plan on a chop, some rocker work, firewall work, and everything else it needs???

  4. Well you're farther along than I am and I hope to be done by then. Of course for a synic I'm pretty optomistic. :D

You got a good starting place
    Luck on the build.

i see you're already done choppin it, i dont have to show up today huh ?

  12. That does look like a good start. I kind of like it unchopped, but I'm goofy. If you do chop it, the cowl area may need to be reworked in my worthless opinion.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Are those dual Holley two barrels on a C-26? How do they run? Are you planning on keeping them? I'm thinking of trying the same thing as I hate Edelbrocks. Good luck guys.
This is the guy that works with Goatboy, BTW. :) You can do it. I like the chop idea.

Hey Mac, They are Holley 500 2brls on an early Offy 360. Great on a small block with a light cam and headers.

Will do, thanks. Measuring for the cut tonight, hopefully have the 1st cut done with pics by Sunday night. I just hope 4" is enough, it's gotta have a little of that radical look.;)

How are ya plannin the chop? Are you gonna lean he A-pillars back,or split the top?I did one by splitting the top,and have since seen them done by leaning back the a-pillars.To me seems like leaning them back is the way to go.Seems like a lot less work, and looks good. Here is an example of one that fellow Hamber (mundysleadsleds)is doing with the pillars leaned back,to give ya an idea. He's also sectioned it.Not shure on the amount(looks to be 4 or 5 on the chop)Anyway, looking forward to seeing ya at the drags!!:D

    The chop begins:
Never chopping before, and me learning sheet metal the day has been inspiring. The marking off seamed the most taxing, 2nd guessing yourself, standing back eyeballing, and then the Goatboy grabbed the blades and wheels and we went to town on it. Very pleased with how it's coming along, and the best part, getting together and working with a friend, that's the best part!!!!

The pieces are just layed in place in these pics to mock the re-***embly, the door tops are not in the pics.

Ok, to try and answer some of the PM's I've been getting about how we cut the roof:: I had 2 tops, the one that came on the cab and an extra. The one that was part of the cab had bad rust in the front and under the drip rails down the sides, the extra roof had good front, good drip rail sides. We elected to cut across the top of the original roof about a foot back from the windshield frame and approx. 2" above the drip rail pionts to the chop pionts on the rear pillar. We did this so we could use the good metal under the drip rails on the extra top. This is why to some the pics look as if the door tops are sitting there, it's actually the upper door jams waiting to be stretched back as part of the roof. Whoooooooo, hope this makes sense, hard to explain in writting.
