So I just recently picked up a fairly traditional looking hot rod. I will be making some changes, mostly cosmetic, paint, upholstery etc... I want to make the car look more period correct. I understand that it will never be period perfect as it has disc brakes, 4-link rear and a 351 Cleveland. but I'd be happy with period resembling? or period close? I'll be posting pics as soon as i figure out how but my main concern is with the Clevo. I have always loved these motors but I am trying to figure out how to make it look more period. I am thinking maybe a 50's Cad air cleaner but what the hell do i do with those funky looking valve covers? any body know of finned aluminums available? Or even better any way to adapt thunderbird or y block covers? Oh yes and thanks in advance for refraining from posting comments like " It's never gonna look preiod at all with the clevo, discs and 4 link." I am aware of this true fact but i am unwilling to change it. Thanks.
Let's see some pics of it with the Cleveland in it. Also the ****** and rear end. This sounds like an interesting A bone.
Lousy pic but I'll get some better ones up on monday. 352 Cleveland, c-4 and currie 9 " http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=6351&pictureid=167879
