Im building a new motor for my 56 its a 337 with Brodix No 8 heads with roller rockers stud girdles. My problem is my Cal Custom valve covers are to short I didnt think there would be a problem since they are tall. But they dont fit was thinking of using spacers but may go with a new set. My question is does anyone make a set that will clear the valve train that look like older Cal Customs? Thanks
There are a few companys that produce a tall version of the finned valve covers. Mostly imported from China. PM me if you need some.
These are spacious like Texas Stadium, 'cept without the hole in the roof... Those Brodix heads accomodate center bolts? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=332670&highlight=stude+valve+covers&showall=1
I have a pair of tall Cal Customs that clear roller rockers. Have you tried your regular Cals, because some of the Brodix heads have raised valve cover rails.
I'm running those cheesy valve covers from China. The sides are actually kinda thick, so I had to grind the inside of the valve covers to clear my roller set up. I've got more pictures in my H.A.M.B album.
Yep Ive tried my tall Cal Customs and they are to short I think I will just pick up a set os spacers.
