A gearvendors overdrive?? its a solid unit but customer support could be a bit better and be ready to do some major mods to your floor we put one in a chevelle and it was a nightmare and we are on the 5th signal genarator that tells the brainbox what to do check out the chevelle pics on our web site since its not hamb friendly.

it was really bad it had to come through the floor about 2 and ahalf inches to make it all fit and had to make a crazy floor brace and get all the drive line angles right was real fun to make the console fit haha.

If your referensing the gear vendor its bullit proof. Its supposed to be good up to 1200hp. Freind of mine has one in his 69' camaro. It splits every gear. So basically if you have a 3 speed it makes it a 6 speed. From what i remember he had to get his drive shaft shortened and it took 3 different tries for them to send him the right control box. They have several diffrent ones and it was just trial and error to find one that worked right for his application. He also had to buy the adapter plate. Think he had around $3000 bucks in everything when he was done.

My freind didnt do any floor modifications to his car except a couple dings here and there towards the back. It was an easy install in his car. Took like 4hrs except the wait for the drive shaft to be shortened and the right controler.

I have had several of them on C-6 Ford autos and narry a problem impossable to abuse them has 460's in front of them. Biggest problem is they are spendy but worth it.

I have one,i think i have the tailshaft for c-6 and turbo 400. I dont have the control box,but i will sell it cheap.I'll take $400 as is plus shipping. I had it in a daully and it worked fine but the control box went out because the person I bought the truck from rigged the wiring. So i took it out. If anybody is intersted pm me and i will gather it up. Thanks,Dan

A much better way to do it is to fit an overdrive like this to the front of a nine inch Ford diff. [IMG]

Yeah, like a lot of the rare genuine muscle car parts from the 70's they don't make it any more.
But it is all good reliable unbreakable stuff if you can find it.
They put these in eight second street strip cars with slicks and they did not break.
Also put them in four wheel drives for off road use. In low range there is a LOT of torque in off road. They could not break them either.
