I have a bat wing air cleaner and am wondering if you guys could help me identify it. From center to center carb bolts it's 8 3/4 with 4 1/8 carb inlet.

    It's not a Packard, don't think it's a Chevy, thinking maybe Mopar.

If not a Mopar maybe it's a Cadillac 365 Aircleaner off an Eldorado 1956-1958. Just what I've been looking for. :)

I think the Chevys were black. I saw a Caddy set-up that color a loooooong time ago. If it was a tri-power, there would be three smaller holes, not two big ones. Mopar or Caddy gets my vote.

I think it is this one off of a cadillac, don't know the year maybe 55-56?

Looked at your pic again and yours has different stamping, this one is caddy.

This isn't the same as the one Chubbie posted pics of. I you look, the one you posted is missing some of the grooves in the lid that Chubbie's has,but the one Tuxedo posted is identical

Cadillac, Chevrolet, Mopar, Packard, and Pontiac all used them.

The Caddys have the "V" emblem, so not Caddy.

    Packard was smooth, no rib.

Chevvy was 7 1/2 inches between carbs.

Going from memory (which could be faulty); Pontiac had eccentric pots (as yours) and Mopar had concentric pots. Would have to dig out my notes.

So at first blush, I believe Pontiac.

    Jon.

The top is 55 and 56 Chrysler 300 only... The oil bath pots are not correct and are commonly used on Cadillacs. I collect 55 and 56 Chrysler 300's. You have a nice piece but it would be much nicer and more desirable it the pots were right. Do you want to sell it?
