Tudor, Stealthcruiser, Stevie G, and PBRmeasap, I look forward to hooking up in a few days!

I have written down everyone's numbers who gave them to me and will call when I get to town. Hopefully I don't get caught up in that blizzard!

I will have Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday to go running around if anyone is game.

Sorry, we will be cruising down in the Ol Lady's Camry with 4 people loaded in the car with all of our junk so HAMB relays will not be an option.

    Thanks!
    Aaron

Backstreet sounds like the Manhole in Chicago.

I am sure it would be a gay time.

I will call y'all on Friday when I get into town. It looks like the snowstorm So-IL is happening today. Hopefully everything is fine by tomorrow.

We went to the Coca Cola museum. It was pretty cool. Went to some seedy bar along a boat yard... I don't remember the name. Cool band though. Five Points is a cool artsy area. We were there for a work meeting my fiance had. I drove around Macon. Took a mansion tour. It was a fun trip.

I thought Backstreet got busted and lost their "private club" status. The ultimate dive bar is the Clermont Lounge on Ponce, an Atlanta ins***ution for 40 years. Ask for Blondie.

Pick up a copy of Creative Loafing for local music.

If you wanna see a couple of high-end totally modern muscle cars that are actually pretty cool, a couple of restored muscle cars, and Little E's winston cup car, stop up at Year One in Braselton (exit 129 off of I-85: Turn Right off the ramp on Hwy 53, and then into the parking lot on the right).
I work there now--Stop by on Thursday or Friday (before 1pm) and I'll give you a tour. They've got a shop out back that builds projects, too, so there's some cool car-stuff happening there, not just a warehouse full of parts.
Call 800-YEAR ONE and ask for me (Brad O****) or Pat Statton, or just show up! I'd give you my direct extension, but I don't know it yet [IMG]

Well, we got in about 9 o'clock this morning (Friday), we left Thursday morning at 7:30.

I protested Wednesday night about leaving on Thursday but of course I was the dumb *** for wanting to leave a day later. In laws just HAD to go then. They hadn't even watched the weather channel.

The trip was supposed to be 10 hours. It took us 26.

I got to catch a nap on the interstate somewhere in Tennessee because traffic came to a halt for 3.5 hours. We also had to drive 15-20 mph through the entire state of KY and half of TN. Then in Chatanooga we had to wait for another 2.5 hours to clean up some wreck and airlift the injured out.

The worst trip I have ever been on.....period.

Brad, are you guys going to be open on Monday or Tuesday?

I need to see something cool to make this trip worth while. HELP ME!

Well, I just found out that we are heading home on Tuesday so going to Year One will have to happen on Monday if it is going to happen. The Ol Lady changed the plans on me, but I am not going to complain because I want to get the Lunar lander frame built this weekend.

I'll see you all tomorrow night!

Just to clarify--YOU wanted to leave a day later to avoid driving in a miserable, Donner Party-esque blizzard, but everyone said "No! Press on! We can make it there before the snows close the p*** and leave us stranded, waiting for the weak ones to die off so we can eat them..."
Now they're telling you to pack it up early and drive home.
Just making sure my score-card is up to date. [IMG]

My official ***le at Year One is: Copy Chimp and Camera Pimp.
Actually, I think we're settling on "Director of Special Projects/ Media Relations" or something along those lines. I don't know many people there--just the guys I've worked with for magazine stories over the years. I'm also horrible with names. I've been there for a week, and a lot of the people still think I'm a magazine guy in doing a story, not an employee.

Well, I got home last night (tuesday) around 6:30 or so. It only took about 8.5 hours to get home instead of the 26 hours it took to get there.

Thanks to Brad for taking the time to give us the tour of Year One. That was pretty cool. We got to see some of the past project cars and the 2fast2furious cars, well, what was left of them at least. [IMG]

It was good to meet up with some other HAMBers too. Stevie G, PBRmeasap, Tudor, Stealthcruiser. My wife was kind of pissed that I didn't get back until 2:30 AM. Oh well, it made the trip much more pleasant for me in the long run. Thanks guys, I look forward to seeing you all again sometime! Chuck, PM me your addy so I can send you some goodies sometime. Thanks for the care package!

I came home to Matt out in the garage wire wheeling the frame for the Tommi Gunn, what a mess. I am glad I wasn't there for that part.

Chuck, maybe it was all those extra "accessories" on your car that made it go out. That anti radar device is drawing too much current I'll bet. [IMG]
