MSD ready to run dist. # 8360... You can even run the stock "window" type gm points cap.
I have used a bunch of these with good sucess.

I agree with carl, you can pick up an old good Mallory unit for as little as 20 bucks. I buy the SBC ones with the two piece caps just for the caps. I just converted a Mallory for my flatty to a pertronix....looks old with the convenience of electronic ignition.

Same problem, no room. Did the pertronix distributor and matching coil. No problems last two years.

Pertronix is the way to go. Cheap, very easy to install, sill looks original. I have installed on several vehicles and they have never let me down.

One thing I did with the Pertronix is I ran the Pertronix coil with the internal resistor, but I burnt the module up. The guy that set up my dizzy suggested that I run a 1.2 ohm ballast resistor in combination with the coil. My two cents, but that may save you an extra $100 and a few hours broke down on the side of the road.

  14. Running a Mallory dual point on the third engine in my 32. Came in the car when I bought it in 1991. Just using one set of points to trigger an MSD. Still works fine after all these years.
