I found this on the HAMB cl***ifieds last night. Glanced at the writeup on it and noticed it was in Billings. Thats two hours east of me. On it's own it would be a pretty intense build with the floors rusted out and many of the standard 54 Ford rustouts. But as a parts car to shuffle into the deck of my Ranchwagon build I come up with 5 aces and all the jokers. Namely a better than average left front fender. (only has the lower rear corner rustout and no other big damage) An imaculate rh door. Same part as the ranchwagon and the one on the wagon somebody backed into something with the door open and it's all screwed up. Very good hood. The one I have is not bad but this ones better, the two holes for the hood ornament are brazed shut but that about it. It has a rebuildable front seat in it, the wagon was missing the seat entirely and I was going to have to come up with that. Complete and better steering wheel and column and a scad of better parts inside. (chrome dash knobs, mine were all black) Front windshield intact and good door gl***. Inner fender panels look good. Icing on the cake are very clean bright bumpers and likewise grill. I feel bad about making a parts car out of it as I drove two of these in High school and 1 afterward. (you can fit 11 high school kids in a 54 tudoor, 9 comfortable). But on the other hand I feel as if I just purchased 6 months of time. (if these parts cleanup as I think they might) I might have a running car this year yet. Cool! How's this for coincidence....I'm going to go strip one today as long as the property owner hasn't changed his mind!
Ratmotor, I looked at your pics of the old junkyard. Thats amazing, good find. Are you stripping a Ford? Ken
Put all the best parts on your keeper car and resell the parts car with the lesser parts so some else can build it or make it a parts car. No guilt and if you are lucky you can put most of your money back in your pocket and have all the parts you wanted.
Verbal, you got that right. Thanks for listing that BTW. We didn't meet on Sunday but I had a good visit with Greg. Good day for a drive too. Ken
I just joined the HAMB hope the 54 is parting out well. Glad it went to a good home. I'm glad Verbal Kint is coaching me, I'm a bit Techno challenged.
Yeah, that whole thing was a cool deal. It filled alot of gaps in my wagon. Some other guys had asked about stuff I didn't need. So now there are good parts from that in Texas and Nevada as well. Glad to see you on here. I see you also found the Montana Hambers.
