Great job guys. The New Mexico chapter will be up there Friday to party down at Sweeny's .Wanted to make sure that you knew that as a hang-around your welcome to join us for the Henchmen birthday bash. We will come check out the progress on the pickup Saturday after we sober up. Keep up the good work and study hard and respect even harder. That ol' man JP has a wealth of knowledge others good not even dream of!!
finally a ford in a chevy! LOL. all those dam chevys in fords! whatever i dont gaive a s##T as long as when you turn the key and push the gas it runs!
oh no dude. i cant take the credit for this. my buddy j.p. is the brains here. he has been doing this for 45 years and has more talent and skill in his little finger that i ever will have. all i do is follow him around in circles and do what he tells me to. but you are right on one thing. when that guy gets done with his magic . i am going to have a really cool ride!
if at all possible. gently remove that old wood and use it for a template. then you have the exact curves you need for the cowl etc.
apparently one of the HENCHMEN asked J.P. how is bill affording this build?( they know i dont make crap for money) J.P.'s response? he cant!
cool build, i like the ford motor. bout time people started using ford motors, all these guys putting chevy motors in fords.
you know? in my mind it is barely a chevy. when i started that body was nothing but a small heap of thin, flimsy sheet metal that was too rusty to even bother throwing in the recycle pile.
this is what happened today before we put the engine and tranny in. we wheeled it outside for some glamour shots.
sweet frame man! are u guna cap the back? i like the coil overs 2! i got that coil spring kit for my truck im building yours looks clean and simple!
here are some before and after pics of the tranny. i used industrial oven and grill cleaner on it. we got the engine and tranny in for good today.
the bed is in for good. now the cab needs to be squared away and have a floor fabricated . this project is taking months and it is purely the money shortage that is holding us back. if i would have started with about 7000 bucks. this would be done already. <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
floor/doors/top done. need fan/rad/pedals/seats/tires-wheels/steering wheel. it is comng along but lack of money is holding us back.
my old kelly full cab top off my willys jeep got transmogrified into the lid for my 27 chevrolet pick em up . it took a lot of fancy cutting.
do you plan on framing the doors to replace the wood in those as well?? im intrested in seeing that as i may buy myself an old chevy that needs the rotten wood replaced in the doors just wanted to get an idea of what im up against
steering/brakes/shift /seats done. it is driveable now. but it needs a real wiring harness doors reinforced glass turn signals horn wind wipers paint steering box needs rebuild. click on this to see it run <!-- / message -->
yep all of the wood got/is getting replaced. i think there is about 60 feet of 1x1" steel tubing in there
WOW A LOT has happened since my last post. it is almost time to register it now. the builder of my car (J.P. of the HENCHMEN) is too big to fit in it. actually he has a bad knee and cant bend it enough to get in. he uses his wife as a stand in for me when he does steering wheel and seat placement. (thanks Joanie!) i never thought i would say this but. thank god i am short an skinny! <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
