while perusing for sbc induction possibilities I happened across this fine example of wretched excess, I had no idea such an animal existed Paul
I saw a guy run a 4x4 intake like that on a ford drag car, ran good at idle and full throttle, not much inbetween.
I looked at that exact same intake at the Chickasha, OK swap meet a few months ago. It's just a sheet metal adapter on a Corvette dual quad. The guy said he had never run it, but the guy he got it from was running it with two of the carbs blocked off. I think he wanted $1000 for it...pretty cool, but not THAT cool.
thought it had a home made flavour to it nobody in their right mind would actually produce something like that it's gotta have 2000 cfm capabilities
"If you build they will buy it"some people just don't get it. It looks like it should be on one of those 70's show only cars
I've seen a 3x4 before, but never a 4x4. Craziest intake I've seen in person was an old Horne, it had 4 strombergs in each corner with a 4barrel in the middle. Was at a swap meet not running, the guy just brought it to show, but mentioned he might let it go for around $600.00. He thought it might have been a test model, or one off. Anyone ever seen one of those? Oh, and it was for an Olds. Yorgatron, know anything about it?
I'm cold man, COLD! How you been? Dave, did you get to see that Horne intake up at Amherst 5 or 6 months back?
nope missed it,havnt been there in a few years, but did score for once this year at stafford.this cold really bites, this shop just wont warm up..hows the merc? any new projects?
