Might be a home made set up? I think I recall there being a thread about manufacturers making or customizing certain vehicles for South America...

From what I can tell by looking at them, they look like sedans with the back cut off.

Pontiac offered 2 different sedan deliveries in the 1927~28 models.

One had a solid body like most other sedan deliveries.

The other had a screen delivery body with a solid top. It basically looked like a pickup with a solid top extending over the bed. There was a bed that looked like a pickup; with screened sides between the top of the bed and the top.

I have pictures in the original dealership sales album, but have never seen this body.

If you were to remove the screening, and cut the top right behind the passenger compartment, it would look exactly like a pickup.

It may be a special made for the forestry service. I have seen with my own eyes a Buick roadster pickup from the same time period (late twenties) for the forestry service.

The glass has been swapped out for gasketed replacements, and a rectangular one in the rear, but that is a Pontiac Pickup all right. Quite the rare animal these days.

I have never seen one moving under its own power, just rotting into the ground in the forest.
