I have put together a chronicle of my efforts to turn my nephews into motor heads. If you've got a moment to burn, I'd be honored. http://www.redbarchetta.net/the-motor-law/ furyus
Interesting read & well stated. My only comment would be that while GM & Chrysler took gov.bailouts, Ford went to China for there money! Everyone knows life inside the beltway has nothing to do with the real world & that they are only out to get what they can for themselves. You sound like a kool Uncle & I'm sure when they are old enough, your nephews will appreciate all you have done for them! I would hate to think of the day we are not allowed to enjoy our vehicles, but like you, I feel its just a matter of time.
Thanks, Mikeco. I didn't know Ford took Chicom money, which certainly diminishes their success somewhat in my eyes. Frankly, though, I'd rather have them borrow and stick their neck out than come running to me and you for a bailout. As much as I love old Chevys and Mopars, if you can't sell what you make because it sucks, well, that means you go broke. I don't know where it's written GM has to last forever, right? Thanks again for taking a look. furyus
Thanks, SteadyT. I hope I can tear them away from the tube long enough to get 'em hooked. I just don't want my nephews growing up thinking Prius' are cool, you know? Thanks for taking the time, dude. furyus
I have always been pretty much a GM guy (except my rods) but was impressed that Ford didn't need a handout, then I heard about the China deal & that just didn't sit well. Funny it wasn't played out on the news like everyone elses deals were.
Heaven forbid someone writes something thought provoking & intelligent. Guess we should just stick to what wheels, carb, color, etc looks good on my car.
